Olympus mju 790 SW

Digital photography is a rapidly evolving area of technology, and you do not need to stay ahead in such an environment by immobile. Olympus answer is to update its product with huge launches at least twice a year. For example, in August 2007, he announced nine new digital cameras, including today under review, the mju 790 SW. Since the launch of the original 3.1MP mju 300 Digital and 3.9MP Digital mju 400 in January 2003, there were no less than 22 models in the range mju, and they have proved very successful. Their combination of aesthetic style, good performance, high-quality images and robustness in all weather conditions, have made them durability very popular with travelers, athletes and anyone with an eye for quality.

The 790 SW is a 7.1-megapixel camera with a compact corner-mounted internal 3x zoom lens and a 2.5-inch monitor. He is one of four new models in the range mju, but it is the only one of those who bear the “SW” suffix, indicating that it is not only durable but completely watertight and shockproof. We reviewed several mju SW front of the cameras, such as the 720 SW, 725SW and, more recently, the 770 SW, and I have personally checked both water and shock resistance. However, despite their remarkable ability to adapt, I was not impressed by their massive image quality. Let us hope that the 790 SW can improve this record.

The 790 SW seems to be quite different from the previous SW models. The military style close to the 770 and 725 has been softened, and the new camera looks much more like a conventional compact pocket. The case is still almost entirely made of metal, construction and quality is obviously exemplary, but he does not seem to feel or anywhere near as tough as almost indestructible 770 SW. Its weight of 136g, it is almost 20g lighter, but it is a few millimeters larger, measuring 93.6 x 60.9 x 21.3 mm, but which is still very low by any standard. He feels quite light for its size, but it is far from difficult. The lens is recessed and protected by a metal cover when not in use, the LCD screen has a scratch-resistant coating, and the main part of the device is finished with a resistant lacquer. The 790 is available in three colors, black, silver, orange, blue and the eye-catching (to put it mildly) lime green metallic my review of the sample.
